Our Story
Founded in 1996 by Pastor Joe & Yvonne Ray, our ministry started as a small beacon of hope in San Antonio, Texas, and has grown into a community-driven force for change. We are a team of change-makers who believe that every helping hand can raise a child and create a better future for them. We focus on helping individuals who are in need of restructuring their lives! Those dealing with homelessness due to gang activity, illegal drug activity, joblessness, or mental illness. Alcohol and drug addiction are significant public health concerns that affect millions of individuals worldwide. In response to this issue, HOHA offers various programs that have been developed to help those struggling with addiction overcome their dependency and lead healthier happier lives.
Homelessness is an ever-growing city-to-city issue that affects millions of people worldwide. As a non-profit organization, we have developed a comprehensive program that offers various support to individuals dealing with this crisis. Our temporary housing program provides solutions that are necessary to provide a safe place for homeless individuals to stay, while they work through our employment program. Helping homeless individuals gain employment is a critical component of breaking the cycle of homelessness. Our on-the-job training program offers homeless individuals the opportunity to receive direct training in the service industry.
We teach the following:
- Do’s and don’ts of the service industry
- Proper communication skill on the job
- Proper work attire
- Cashier Training
- Excellent Customer Service
- Cooking & Food Preparation
- Food handlers certification
- TABC Certification
Our Mission
Our mission at HOHA is to make sure less privileged youth get the support they need, when they need it, no matter what it is.
We believe in the power of transformation through a strong work ethic, on-the-job training, and the principles of life. Our mission is to bring the homeless and those with mental illness off the streets, drawing individuals closer to Christ and helping them succeed as productive members of society.
Our Vision
We want to build a world where no child or youth feels alone and gets every possible help they need as soon as possible.
